Esthetic Treatments
Smiling freely reflects confidence, no matter what our teeth look like
The aim of esthetic dental treatments is to give you this confidence
by correcting the anomalies that bother you and prohibit you from smiling freely.
Direct veneers and incisal edge restorations
Even if you have a perfectly regular set of teeth that resembles a Hollywood smile in every way, it can be particularly noticeable if a small piece of your front tooth chips off. In such cases, a light-curing material is used for the restoration, which is layered in several shades to achieve a natural color effect.
For direct veneers, the process is similar, but the material is applied to the outer surface of the tooth, the surface that is visible when you smile. This technique can be used, for example, to protect and esthetically correct damaged, cracked tooth enamel, but it can also be used on multiple teeth to transform the appearance of perfectly sound teeth.
Teeth can be made slightly longer or wider, and the incisal edges can be finely contoured to achieve the desired result.
Indirect ceramic veneers
Whether it is a single tooth or the entire smile zone, indirect veneers are a fantastic way to sculpt your smile. These shells, which are as thin as contact lenses, are fabricated by a master dental technician. Similarly to direct veneers, they are then bonded to the outer surface of the teeth.
Indirect veneers allow us to close gaps between teeth, unify the size of teeth, and even optically “align” the dentition to some extent.
A huge advantage of veneers is that the spectacular transformation requires only a minimal preparation of the teeth, as it is important to preserve as much of the natural tooth structure as possible to keep it strong and resistant to external forces.
Esthetic crowns
With crowns, we can achieve virtually any change we can with veneers. Crowns, however, not only cover a single (outward-facing) surface of the tooth, but surround it like a cap or lid. They do not exclusively serve an esthetic function. In fact, crowns and bridges made up of several crowns placed side by side can replace missing teeth and restore the function of severely damaged or broken teeth.
This of course requires the preparation of the teeth to make room for the crowns, but thanks to the digital manufacturing and preparation techniques we use at our clinic, we can make crowns that fit so precisely that they can protect the prepared teeth from external forces.
Gum plasty
Many people feel uncomfortable when their gums and teeth are not in harmony. In such cases, we use gum plasty to improve the smile as a whole.
The 3 most common reasons that necessitate gum plasty:
The gums cover the upper part of your teeth, so too much of the gum is visible when you smile. As a result, the teeth appear shorter and their proportions differ from what is generally considered optimal. This so-called “gummy smile” can be caused by a number of factors, and, of course, the appropriate treatment depends on the cause.
The opposite can also occur. When we cover the root surface of “too long” teeth (gingival grafting), we make the teeth shorter! We also improve the quality of the gums (keratinized tissue augmentation).
The quality of the gums around dental implants may also need to be improved (keratinized tissue augmentation).
Correcting the gum line can have a spectacular effect in these cases, immediately making the smile more proportionate.
Another advantage of gum contouring is that it can be performed quickly, even in one visit. After a short recovery period, it can make a huge difference to your quality of life.
